PTTEP submit bids for Bongkot and Erawan gas fields

Bangkok, September 25, 2018 – PTTEP submits bids for Bongkot and Erawan gas fields with confidence in its competitive proposals that will deliver the continuity in natural gas supply with  competitive costs, ensuring energy security and creating higher benefits to the country.

Somporn Vongvuthipornchai, Chief Executive Officer of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), said that PTTEP has submitted bid proposals for the two expiring concessions. PTTEP will bid solely on Bongkot, while the Erawan gas block, PTTEP will partner with Mubadala Petroleum (Thailand) Ltd. who also operates oil and gas field in the Gulf of Thailand. 

“Our expertise and experiences in the exploration, development and production for 25 years in the Bongkot field have positioned us as a prudent operator. We will ensure continuity in natural gas supply with competitive costs, resulting in maximizing benefits to the country and creating energy security in the long term,” said Somporn.

The Bongkot and Erawan gas fields are considered the vital indigenous source of energy supply to Thailand with a combined natural gas production accounts for 60% of total outputs produced in the country.
